People of the Heart

Heart Centered Psychotherapy

What is heart centered psychotherapy? Andrew Bennet once said,  "the longest distance you'll ever travel is the 18 inches from your head to your heart" and I believe that to be true.

Today, we live in a head dominated society, where most people are living in their minds. It is no surprise that anxiety and depression are so common. By developing a relationship with our mental, emotional, and physical bodies we open to a new way of relating to ourselves, others and the world.

By integrating the wisdom of the heart with the wisdom of the mind, we being to shift old patterns and ways of relating that are no longer serving us.

We begin to heal from past traumas. This process builds our capacities and increases our self awareness in a way that is both authentic and empowering. It is from this authentic and empowered place that we can access deeper ways of connecting with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Whether you decide to work with me or not, I hope you find what you are looking for and continue on the courageous path of self inquiry and development.

Thank you for being here.

With care,

Abigail

Hi, my name is Abigail

I am an integrative therapist practicing in the San Francisco bay area. I am currently seeing clients via telehealth.

I, myself, am someone who has benefited greatly from therapy and am excited to be able to support others on their path.

What To Expect At Your Visit

I use an integrative and holistic approach to support you on your journey. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that requires participation and investment from the client and therapist alike. But in the end, cultivating awareness, making small changes, creating space for emotions to be expressed, and practicing new ways of relating within a professional setting can bring life-altering results.

The process of finding the right therapist for you can take time and it may take a few sessions to determine if a therapist is a good match. I offer a free brief consultation to see if we are a good fit before starting to work together and am happy to refer other therapists if needed.
